Dinosuit sets sustainability ambitions for 2023 to further reduce its carbon footprint

“The vision for Dinosuits from the beginning was to design exciting, unique toys with strong values. Each Dinosuit is made from 90% recyclable materials. We are working on that last 10% this year. I want to continue to achieve higher standards and that includes reducing the carbon footprint at the manufacturing stage as well as the factory and transportation stages too.”

Dinosuits sets sustainability ambitions for 2023 to further reduce its carbon footprint

The educational and ethically-designed children’s crafting kit, Dinosuits has detailed intentions to reduce its manufacturing carbon footprint further in 2023 by addressing ‘the last 10%’ of its product design currently not using recyclable materials.

Dinosuits is a range of home-constructable dinosaur outfits that offer ‘realistic movement’ when worn and manipulated by their user. Each Dinosuit is made from 90% recyclable materials acquired from sustainable sources.

Indicative of a growing demand for responsibly-sourced and manufactured products in the toy market, the team behind the design reported an overwhelming response to the range at its first trade fair, Top Drawer, in 2022. As a result, Dinosuits are now being stocked in a variety of stores across the UK, as well as esteemed city museums including Manchester Museum and Dundee Contemporary Arts Centre.

“The most cherished moments from last year have been working directly with the public and retail buyers at the shows,” Ross Padgett, founder and designer behind Dinosuits, told Products of Change.

“It must have been over a year ago when I visited the Products of Change stand at Brand Licensing Europe with the prototype under my arm for a sustainability consultation, and I would recommend all inventors take this opportunity as the POC team are a real inspiration at these events and able to provide so much support and connection for new companies.
